This variety, like many of our other white wines is very aromatic and lush with fruit flavors. 201 is our sixth vintage of this unique varietal that our winemaking team chose to vinify as a dry style wine. Made in a limited quantity, this wine is from stellar fruit and a dynamic vintage.
Flavor and Aroma:
Complex floral and ripe citrus enhance this rich and deeply flavored dry white wine.
Residual Sugar: .8
Aging Potential:
Drink now or within the next five to ten years.
Thoughts for Food:
Moderate to medium-spiced ethnic dishes, pork, and turkey. Ideas include vegetable stir fry, sweet and sour pork and a traditional roasted turkey.
Wine Maker's Comments:
You are either a Gewurztraminer fan or you are not, but when you taste one you like you know it! I predict this will be one you’ll like, especially if you are a fan of the variety. It has everything we favor in this spicy white. There are intense fruit and rose petal aromatics with a dry finish. There is no cloying richness that can often make these wines too heady. We are delighted to be making and sharing this wine that is from vines that were cloned from the Manigold vineyard, one of the Old Mission Peninsula's best vineyards for this variety.
